The Galvanizers yard at SWG3 was a hive of activity this afternoon as final preparations for this weekend's Glasgow Craft Beer Festival got under way.

Beer taps were installed, decorative banners hung and kegs chilled as organisers prepared for their event in the city after years spent as the Edinburgh Craft Beer Festival.

Chef Nick Watkins of El Perro Negro was spotted rolling up his sleeves to build a foodie tent which his team will share with Southside favourites Babos and pop-up pizza pros Beirm over the two-day event.

Inside the Finnieston venue's main hall a DJ deck took centre stage in preparation for a weekend of music from Optimo, Huey Morgan and Greg Wilson.

Having just arrived in Glasgow, Greg Wells (co-founder of festivals organisers We Are Beer) was confident that a glimpse of sunshine was a clear sign of good things to come.

He said: "We’re so glad to be in Glasgow.

"There’s so much planning for these events and it's finally showtime.

"As soon as you get the keys to the venue and start building the festival it's super exciting.

"Come on down whatever your flavour is, we’ll find for sure find a beer that you’ll love.

"We can’t wait to open the doors tomorrow."

The Glasgow Craft Beer Festival will run from July 8 to 9 with over 35 'world-class breweries' confirmed to attend.
