A WOMAN has been 'extremely shaken' after being robbed and assaulted by a masked woman in Glasgow.

The victim was in a common close on Arlington Place on Sunday evening in the city's Woodlands.

At around 9pm, she was approached by a man and a woman, who was donning a white surgical mask.  

She was pushed by the woman and had her purse stolen.

Officers are now hunting the thief and her accomplice and are urging anyone who witnessed anything suspicious to come forward.

The thief is described as white, aged 35 to 40, of heavy build with blonde hair.

At the time of the incident, she wore a white t-shirt, black leggings, a black jacket, a black baseball cap as well as a mask.

The man accompanying her is described as white, aged 35 to 40 years, of slim build with short blonde hair.

Detective Constable Lee McIntyre said: “Fortunately the woman was not hurt but she was left extremely shaken by what happened.

“Enquiries are being carried out door-to-door and officers are also reviewing CCTV footage.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area, particularly Arlington Place and Ashley Street, and may have seen this man and woman, or anyone acting suspiciously to get in touch.

“Likewise, if you have private CCTV or dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation then please contact us.”
