A CARE worker will stand trial accused of neglecting a patient and stealing his medication.

David McDonald, 36, allegedly committed the offences at a property in Glasgow's Govan between November 14 and 16, 2022.

Court papers state McDonald, of Paisley, Renfrewshire was the care worker of William Geddes.

The charge says McDonald ill-treated or wilfully neglected Mr Geddes.

Allegations state the carer failed to provide him with prescribed medication and did not do personal care tasks.

McDonald is further alleged to have failed to use an overhead tracking hoist to lift Mr Geddes into bed.

A separate charge claims McDonald stole Mr Geddes' prescribed medication between the same dates.
