The new SFO apprentices will be at the heart of this work, supporting customers through their student finance journeys and helping to process around 1.5 million applications each year.

Glasgow Times:

The new roles will be based in Hillington, and the successful candidates will be joining the organisation’s operations team, with the apprenticeship programme taking 15 months to complete.

Applications are being encouraged from across the West of Scotland.

As well as being supported and developed by colleagues within SLC, the apprentices will also work towards their SCQF Level 6 Business Administration qualification with education provider, Babington.

Jackie Currie, executive director of business operations at SLC, said: “We’re committed to growing a talented, diverse and skilled workforce. Our Apprenticeship programme forms a key part of this approach which is why we make sure our apprentices are equipped with the tools they need to invest in their future, develop their expertise and achieve their career goals.

“I’m looking forward to welcoming a new cohort of apprentices to the Operations Team this summer. It’s a fantastic opportunity for people to gain valuable experience with a large public sector organisation and achieve a recognised qualification at the same time."
