CELTIC teenager Cameron Harper has signed a three-year deal with MLS side New York Red Bulls, the American outfit have announced.
The 19-year-old has signed a multi-year contract in the Big Apple, with Red Bulls inserting a clause that allows them to extend it for another year.
The American winger was highly regarded at Parkhead and made his senior debut for the club in January's 1-1 draw with Hibs in the league.
Harper told the official Celtic site that while he was grateful for the grounding in the professional game that the club had given him, the allure of returning Stateside proved too great to resist.
“I have really enjoyed my time at Celtic," he said. "It has been a great experience.
"I’m very grateful for the offer made to me by Celtic too, but I wanted to go back to the US and take this new opportunity. Of course, it goes without saying, I wish Celtic nothing but success for the future."
Speaking to the Red Bulls website, head coach Gerhard Struber said: "I’m very happy to have Cameron join our team.
