STEVEN GERRARD will dare to dream of Europa League glory as Rangers look to see off Slavia Prague and clinch a place in the quarter-finals this term.

The Premiership champions earned a 1-1 draw on Thursday evening as Filip Helander cancelled out a stunning strike from Nicolae Stanciu and a late Allan McGregor save could prove defining in the tie.

Victory at Ibrox next week would see Rangers progress a round further than they managed last season before losing to Bayer Leverkusen and Gerrard will remain realistic despite his lofty ambitions.

Gerrard said: "One hundred per cent we'll dream. We've been dreaming since we qualified.

"There's no harm in dreaming. But at the same time you've got to have respect for the opposition.

"You've got to realise the challenge and what's coming up against you.

"This is a side who has gone away to a Premier League team and won comfortably, so in no way can we get carried away.

"It's always nice to dream but we probably have to find our biggest performance of the season at Ibrox to get this done."

Rangers remain unbeaten in European competition this season and are now just 90 minutes away from a place in the last eight after another encouraging result and performance on the continent.

Slavia were 2-0 winners away to Leicester City in the previous round and Rangers will take nothing for granted ahead of a hugely significant night at Ibrox.

Gerrard said: "We have learned that there is no way we can respect them. They are a real good team, a real powerful team.

"They are affective, they play vertical. We knew they weren't going to kill us from a technical point of view.

"But we knew we would have to match them physically in terms of their running power. We managed to do that after the opening stages of the game.

"But in no way in this game over or are we in any way, shape or form favourites. I think this tie sits 50-50 and it's a real exciting tie to look forward to at Ibrox."
