Celtic are seeking clarification from the Scottish FA over the camera angles used by VAR to determine Jota's offside goal versus Motherwell.

The Portuguese winger thought he'd doubled the Hoops' lead at Fir Park on Wednesday night with a delightful chip over Liam Kelly in the second-half.

However, VAR would eventually intervene to advised on field referee Willie Collum that the 23-year-old was in fact offside. The goal was chopped off as a result.

Controversy was then sparked about VAR's ability to make this decision, with the camera angle shown on TV and Motherwell's live stream of the game from the opposite end of the pitch.

No image of the situation was provided from the Motherwell half to viewers.

Now, the Scottish Sun say Celtic will seek answers from the SFA over the vantage point used to draw the lines using Hawkeye technology.

It's said that Parkhead chiefs are not complaining about the decision itself.

Celtic are believed to be ready to write to the SFA in the coming days over the matter.

It's also said Hoops chiefs believe faith in the VAR system could be undermined unless the reasons for all decisions are illustrated fully.

Motherwell chief Alan Burrows took to social media tonight to reveal that VAR had more than one angle to look at the incident.

He said: "We facilitate the Scottish FA in placing them where they feel is most appropriate.

"There were a few site visits by SFA and Hawkeye and 18-yard positions were selected in both halves.

"We even got one upgraded (at our expense). Both were in operation last night."

The game finished 2-1 to the champions in Lanarkshire, with Kyogo and Daizen Maeda getting on the scoresheet before Ross Tierney replied for the hosts.
