Liverpool has provided an update surrounding the condition of Ben Doak.

The former Celtic youngster was involved in a nasty head collision during the Reds' afternoon UEFA Youth League clash with Sporting CP.

The 17-year-old appeared to collapse to the floor seconds after jumping up for a header.

Medics spent around seven minutes attending to the Scottish starlet, as they urgently acted after the knock with an opponent.

Doak was thankfully able to get back to his feet after receiving on-field treatment.

However, the attacker was unable to continue and was subbed off in the quarter-final tie.

Now, Liverpool has moved to alleviate any fears over Doak's injury.

U21s head coach Barry Lewtas said: "Ben is okay. He obviously couldn't continue but our medical staff got to him quickly.

"He was on the pitch at the end with the lads and we will keep him closely monitored."
