Harry Kane will not be signing a new contract at Tottenham, according to a report.

The England captain has one year remaining on his deal at Spurs, and it would appear that will be allowed to run down.

Bayern Munich are interested in signing the world-class striker this summer to avoid having to fight off more competition for his signature next year.

The Times reports that Kane would be keen to move to the Bundesliga champions if a deal could be struck with Tottenham, however, that remains to be seen.

Daniel Levy has knocked back a second bid from the German giants for the soon-to-be 30-year-old, which was believed to be worth £68.5million plus add-ons.

It's thought that once bidding enters figures north of £80million that Spurs will begin to listen.

Spurs had hoped to convince their skipper to stay put in North London by committing to a new longer-term deal, but it seems these hopes are rapidly declining.

Despite all of this, it's stated that Kane will not push to leave the club this summer. That comes after his failed attempt to leave in 2021 after the Euros when Manchester City were interested.

However, the frontman has no intention of staying at his boyhood club beyond next summer.

It's said the contract offer on the table from Spurs would see Kane paid £300,000 a week, with other performance-related bonuses on top of that.

Ange Postecoglou has made it no secret that he wants to work with Kane, with the Australian sinking his teeth into the job one month after leaving Celtic to join.

The difficult decision he and the club faces is that if Kane doesn't want to be there, and has no intentions of hanging around when he's free to leave next year, then the significant money raised by a potential sale this summer would allow Spurs to rebuild in other areas.

Postecoglou said: “I certainly hope so. It’s one of those things where, when you’re in this role, I’ve learned that you’ve got to deal with the certainties that are before you.

"If you start thinking about what happens if that happens and that happens, there are too many things that can be floating in the air at any time [and] you lose focus on what’s the most important thing.

“The most important thing for me right now is to build a team that is going to be successful in the Premier League. If I wait to see what an outcome is before I start that process I’m going to lose valuable time.”
