He may have only been in the door for a short while.

But everyone at Tottenham is already aboard the Ange Postecoglou hype train.

James Maddison insists the Spurs squad has already bought into the 57-year-old's way of thinking about the game.

The Australian joined from Celtic on a four-year deal and has been working with his new players since July 1.

Maddison, who sealed a move from recently relegated Leicester City, was one of Postecoglou's first signings.

And the ex-Aberdeen loanee admits all of the players are fully on side with what Postecoglou is trying to achieve.

"He's been really good, to be honest, very thorough," the 26-year-old admitted on talkSPORT. "He has his way of playing and that's it. We've all bought into it to be fair and taken it on, the lads have been brilliant.

"It might be a little bit different for Spurs, because Tottenham have, you would probably agree, previously had more defensive-minded managers. The gaffer isn't like that at all.

"He's very front foot and attacking, he believes in that - in his messages tactically, in meetings - he believes it with real authority. It's straight down the line. He's a very honest man."

Meanwhile, former Norwich City coach Craig Shakespeare is wondering how Maddison will fit into Postecoglou's system.

It comes after he saw the Aussie's style firsthand during a pre-season clash last summer.

He commented: "I was at Norwich last season and we played Celtic. I was so impressed with them, the way the manager got them playing. Really impressed. The work ethic, the desire without the ball.

"If anything that would be a chink in Maddison's armour, can he counter-press? How the manager wants him to?

"His undoubted ability with the ball will put players through on goal, creating chances, score himself. It's that work ethic that Ange will demand without the ball."

Meanwhile, Harry Kane expects to stay at Tottenham if he's not sold before their opening Premier League game.

Sky Sports states that the Spurs captain will not anticipate leaving North London this summer if he's included in Ange Postecoglou's starting line-up away at Brentford on Sunday, August 13.

The England skipper, 30, is wanted by Bayern Munich. It's believed that the Bundesliga giants will improve their current £82million offer for the world-class frontman.
