Goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo was aware Celtic had their eye on him before Finland's friendly against Scotland last June.
The 23-year-old, who joined Celtic in July, was a half-time substitute in the June 7 match, pulling off a crucial save to prevent a late winner.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw.

He recently revealed he had an inkling of Celtic's interest before the match at Hampden.
Sinisalo said: "There probably was a couple [of suggestions].
"I didn't know that it was going to happen, but there was a bit of an early shout that it possibly could.
"Whether that [save vs Scotland] got it over the line or not, I don't know.
"I knew about the interest.
"The fact that I played against Scotland didn't do me any harm.
"It picked up speed after that, and three to four weeks later, I found myself here."
With veteran keeper Kasper Schmeichel sidelined with a shoulder injury, Sinisalo has been the man between the sticks for Celtic in recent weeks.
The Finnish stopper is relishing his role and has expressed his desire to secure the permanent number one spot at the club.
He said: "That's always been the aim.
"That's the whole plan of me coming here.
"I want to play for this football club.
"I want to be the number one here.
"That's been the aim since the first day I walked into this football club.
"I want to be the best, and hopefully my performances and the way I train every day can prove that."
