A MAN suffered serious injuries to his face after being attacked with a knife inside a South Side home. 

The 50-year-old was pounced on by a brute in a property on Newlands Road at around 10.25am yesterday. 

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where his condition is described as stable.

A man was seen near the property at the time and is described as white, around 5ft 8ins and aged early 20s. He had dark hair and spoke with a local accent.

A dark coloured car was also seen in the area at the time which was parked at the location and then driven off in the direction of Clarkston Road.

Detective Sergeant Nicol McPherson said: “The man suffered serious injuries and it is important that we speak to the man seen near the property around the time of the assault who we believe can help with our enquiries."
