A WOULD-BE thief was caught on camera raiding a man's car after he prowled up and down the street. 

The lout was caught on the Milton man's home CCTV system last night repeatedly stalking the street. 

He then opens the door of a parked unlocked Skoda and rifles around in the motor before fleeing the scene.

The victim said nothing was taken from the car but he reported the matter to Police Scotland on 101 the following day.

He took to social media to share a video of the culprit and said: "Everyone make sure you lock your cars at night and don’t leave anything of value in them.

"I must have left my car unlocked. Noticed the glove box and centre console open and had a look back on my cameras to find this scumbag trying the door then coming back and entering my car and having a rummage about.

"Raging is not the word and I’m actually glad I didn’t catch him at it. Nothing stolen thankfully, but not the point

"I’ve heard of recent similar incidents all around the Milton but wherever you live just keep it in mind."

A spokeswoman said: "Officers in Glasgow have received a report of a break-in to a car on Ashgill Road, which is believed to have taken place overnight between Saturday, April 10, and Sunday, April 11.

"Enquiries into the matter are at an early stage.”
