ONE person was rushed to hospital after a crash this morning which caused delays of up to 50 minutes on a busy motorway.

Emergency services were called to a junction near Glasgow Airport on the M8 this morning around 7.30am after reports of a crash.

Traffic Scotland has reported that queues were reaching the Erskine junction and waiting times were around 50 minutes shortly after the incident.

Now, Police Scotland has confirmed that a car and a motorcycle were involved in the collision.

One person was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

The road was fully reopened around 8.20am but drivers in the area are still advised be cautious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a report of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle near to J28 of the eastbound M8, Glasgow, at around 7.30am on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

“One person was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, for treatment.

“The road was cleared by 8.20am.”
