RANGERS legend Ally McCoist is counting down the minutes until his old Ibrox team-mate Paul Gascoigne appears on Italy's version of I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!

According to the Sun, the England great has agreed to be on the latest series of Isola de Famosi - The Island of the Famous - with filming beginning in March.

The TV show is filmed in Honduras in Central America, with Gascoigne reportedly having passed a series of physical and mental tests to get the green light to appear.

Gascoigne was contracted to Serie A giants Lazio between 1992 and 1995 before the midfielder sealed a move to Glasgow, where he spent the next three years.

McCoist says he can't wait to see how his old pal gets on - adding that Gascoigne will provide box-office entertainment for viewers at home.

Speaking to talkSPORT, McCoist said: "He’ll either be on the first plane home after 24 hours - or he’ll win it!

"It’s as simple as that, there’ll be no grey area!
